September is upon us. The days are getting shorter. The temperature is getting cooler. Tans are beginning to fade. If you are anything like me, you may have realized that with the fading of your tan, your usual skin tone looks a little dull and dry. Well, do I have news for you!

A little back story before I get to the tale at hand. A few years ago, the Beauties at sarynaKEY Canada approached me to review their hair care lines, and of course I said yes! I had used their oil and was curious to see if their other products delivered…and yes, they did. Since then, I have always shared their product launches, contests and such via Instagram. Well, a week after my 47th birthday, yours truly won a prize! I won the body care line, sarynaKEY’s latest addition to the sarynaKEY line. Let me introduce you to Body Therapy by sarynaKEY. 

This luxurious line is, in a word, FABULOUS! I have dry, sensitive skin, so most scented products are not my friend. One of the pleasant surprises of this line is that I had no reaction to the scent…cue angels singing. Those of you with sensitive skin get me.

Body Therapy by sarynaKEY is paraben free, SLS/SLES free, mineral oil free and cruelty free. The packaging is recyclable as well. The line consists of 4 products, one of which is the first body mask treatment of it’s kind!

Naked Break Body Shampoo – gently cleanses your skin, restores moisture and glow. Enriched with shea butter, jojoba oil and camellia plant extracts. Apply a generous amount into your palm, emulsify then apply all over your body – avoid contact with your face and eyes…just in case.

Naked Break Body Mask – yes, you read that right. A mask for your body! This gem renews your skin’s appearance, nourishing from the inside out. Increases natural glow and elasticity while providing a protective layer to protect against the elements. Apply while in the shower, after using Naked Break Body Shampoo. Apply all over, then rinse off! Literally only need a few seconds to treat and smooth your skin. *** this product can be a tad slippery so avoid using on the soles of your feet and rinse the shower after using so your significant other doesn’t slip.

Body Lotion – a light weight lotion that absorbs quickly. Hands Butter – my new favorite hand cream. The scent is heavenly. As you all are well aware, yours truly is a hair product junkie. I adore trying new products, learning about their ingredients, their properties and most importantly, if they deliver on their promises. I am not a licensed hair stylist. What I am is a women with over 15 years of hair care experience. It was inevitable, Monday has arrived. I for one have been known to put on my best pout around 8:00 p.m. on a Sunday evening, knowing that Monday morning was mocking me with every tick of the clock. Since we cannot control time, nor the calendar, why not embrace Monday and make the best of it. We cannot control that a toddler thinks a snowsuit in June is appropriate daycare wear, the sighs, grunts and the all too familiar “UGH!” from our teens, every morning, nor can we control our spouse staring at us, stating over and over “Where are my keys?”…FYI…how about instead of staring at us, move your eyes around and help find them. You all get the picture, Monday morning can be, interesting. Today, I have a treat for you! This gem will bring a smile to your face and relief to your mind. HIGH = your updo’s new bff. Lovely for braids, tight curls and for styles that need their volume high all day.

To use – always apply to dry hair. Select your desired hold factor. Give the can a good shake upside down (just as you do with canned whipped cream), then spray. I suggest holding the can at least 10 -12 inches from your hair. (30 cm or length of a ruler for my metric friends).

Pumping up the Volume

First and foremost, thank you all for your reaction to my “…what a pleasant surprise” tale of Arbonne. Due to the attention yours truly has been given more products to try and review, so keep your eyes peeled for more reviews of Arbonne – not only hair care but skin care and more. Now, on to today’s tale.

For those familiar with my tales, you know how I love big hair. Yep. You can take this girl out of the 80’s but you can’t take the 80’s out of this girl. My hair appears to be thick, it is not. It is baby fine, I happen to have lots of it. Since it is baby fine, many volumizing products end up weighing down my tresses and in turn, weigh down my mood. We all know the difference between a good hair day and a bad hair day … our poor husbands, children and coworkers can attest to this…you know it. I know it. Lets except it and move on. I have been experimenting with and using a mousse for the past few weeks and I gotta say, I am a fan. Let me introduce you to Arbonne Pure Vibrance Texturizing Mousse.

This gem is a non aerosol mousse, so it does not foam up like whipped cream in your hand. Don’t fret, it still offers the same volume that your favorite aerosol mousse delivers. It is created for all hair types and can be applied to damp or dry hair, depending on the desired style. Applied to damp hair, it adds volume and lift wherever it is applied – Arbonne recommends 2-4 pumps. I personally found 6 -8 pumps worked best for the best volume. ( 2-4 pumps applied to hair, after worked through the hair, add 2- 4 more pumps, then blow dry) *pump the product into your hand, not directly on your hair. On dry hair, 2 – 4 pumps will suffice and will give you a more tousled, beachy wave.

The Key to Damage Repair

At one time or another, we have been there. Standing in the bathroom, looking down at our hairbrush, then slowly moving forward to face our reflection in the mirror as we wince at the state of our hair.
